‘‘Navigating the intricacies of the homeopathic repertory can be daunting, especially for novices and students eager to master the art of effective rubric selection in the early stages of their homeopathic career. One Hundred Practice Cases for Homeopaths by Sarah Penrose offers a spectrum of simple to complex real-life cases, providing a succinct but rich source of examples of accurate and effective rubric selection. Sarah’s expertise and methodical approach in narrating these cases offers a unique opportunity for homeopaths to practice effective prescribing through emphasis upon each individual’s unique circumstances and specific needs.’’
To become adept in any discipline we must practice everyday, right?! I have designed this book to fill in while you build up your case load, or during a pause in your real-life cases.
‘‘This book is a compilation of real-world cases that benefited from classical homeopathy. I personally learnt quite a few new rubrics and indicated remedies
in them, even after 22 years of practice. Sarah Penrose has presented the patient notes succinctly, distilling the essence of case taking to important points. She clarifies in the beginning that this is not to be an exercise in case taking and that not all cases here were ‘cured’ with the single remedies as presented here. This is important to note. The idea is to identify the totality and learn how to find rubrics from description by patients. I know from personal experience that one of the main challenges for a
beginner is translating patient language to rubrics. This book is an excellent guide in this direction. I hope homeopaths will make full use of this book and wish you all a great learning experience.’’

‘‘This compendium, by my New Zealand colleague Sarah Penrose who regularly shares her clinical wisdom via her excellent Substack Evidence Based Homeopathy?, is going to be a useful tool for both the novice clinician and student homeopath needing to refine their skills. These 100 cases are from Sarah’s clinic files so represent a varied expression of real-life scenarios resulting in the dispensing of a wide variety of homeopathic medicines. With so many needing to learn our unique Art via an online situation rather than a real face to face class time experience, this book will prove to be a valuable tool for building confidence in remedy selection.’’

’’One Hundred Practice Cases for Homeopaths is evidently a book on homeopathic therapeutics, a variety of cases with varied signs and symptoms are presented in a pleasing style aiming at the requirements of the students, laymen, and practitioners of homeopathy. The description of individual cases and the insistence on finding the correct rubric to arrive to a single remedy is not only evidence of understanding the
principles of homeopathy, but also displays that Sarah, our homeopath, is equipped with the yield of extensive study for decades and experience dearly earned through toil and tenacity of purpose. The author's mission to practice classical homeopathy keeps the hope alive for many upcoming homeopaths and is an inspiration to many fellow practitioners. My best wishes towards documenting her great service to homeopathy and homeopaths.’’

’’As students of classical homeopathy in the 1990s, our only opportunity to hone our repertorisation skills were the case studies provided by our teachers. No sooner had we earned our degree, that invaluable source, which had nurtured us through the years of training, dried up. We were left to ‘sink or swim’ on our own, like many generations of novice homeopaths before us. With One Hundred Practice Cases for Homeopaths, Sarah Penrose, practitioner, researcher, and author in the field of classical Homeopathy, is gifting the homeopathic community a precious workbook to fill a glaring gap. Covering a diverse range of cases, this volume offers indispensable training materials to promote fluency in the language of repertorization, and develop the art and craft of choosing the similimum. This book is dedicated to contemporary homeopaths on their way to becoming confident and proficient prescribers.’’

‘‘In this little book, Sarah has collected cases for us to practice one of the critical skills of the homeopath: translating the situation in front of us into the language of homeopathy — rubrics. The cases are elegantly summarized, giving us insight into key questions to ask when taking a case. The rubrics she chooses allow us to hone our own repertorization skills and deepen our understanding of a range of remedies. Overall, an invaluable tool for learning homeopathy!’’ Chelsea Smock

‘‘In this book, there are several aspects I truly admire. Firstly, the concise summaries of the stories serve as a helpful guide to understanding the key points when a patient shares their experience. Each story is distilled to its essential elements, making it didactic. Secondly, the consistent selection of repertory symptoms demonstrates how to approach finding a remedy systematically (through anamnesis, analysis, and repertorization) with precision. I am confident that this work will resonate with anyone interested in exploring the benefits of homeopathy.’’

I am so grateful for the support of many colleagues for testing these cases for solvability, and to those who took the time to read this book and write a blurb in support of it including fellow Substackers Veronika Bond and Chelsea Smock

‘In contrast to frequent claims, the available Meta Analyses of homoeopathy in placebo-controlled randomised trials for any indication show significant positive effects beyond placebo.
Compared to other medical interventions, the quality of evidence for efficacy of homoeopathy was similar or higher than for 90% of interventions across medicine.
Accordingly, the efficacy evidence from placebo-controlled randomised trials provides no justification for regulatory or political actions against homoeopathy in health-care systems.’1
