Likewise, the defense system is a physical and psychological complexity having the simple goal of preserving life as best as possible.²

The defense system is continually attempting to rid harmful / pathogenic etc., influences in its own unique, individual way which drives symptomatology. This is basic homeopathic understanding, the principle on which treatment is designed.³

A correctly prescribed, individualized homeopathic medicine is evidence based⁴ and has the sophisticated effect of encouraging and supporting the inherent defense system to overcome pathologies.’⁵

Homeopathy & methodologies

Sadly, I have countless examples in my files of children especially suffering after having been given a parasite detox protocol of arbitrarily (made up) devised guidelines for ‘homeopathic remedies’ administered a few times weekly for eight weeks…

These children (and adults too) typically suffer unnecessarily exacerbating prior conditions i.e., eczema which, to add insult to injury, is often confused by the appearance of new symptoms.

Why?

I cannot speak to the motivations of others (I am still shocked as the profits over people model is the domain of big pharma)⁷ but I can happily outline one of the fundamental principles of Homeopathy (taught in homeopathy 101) - PROVINGS

To discover the healing properties (if any) of a homeopathic medicine they are proved upon healthy people - no animal testing is necessary in homeopathy. During a proving, healthy people of all ages and of both sexes are given gradually increasing doses of a homeopathic medicine unknown to them for a period of time…

The scientific process of proving a homeopathic medicine (named the homeopathic pathogenetic trial (HPT) in research circles) is defined as ‘an experiment conducted to establish the curative properties of a drug via pathogenetic effects on healthy volunteers to inform and ground the application of the therapeutic similitude principle’⁸ and has also been turned arbitrary by some…

According to Farrington ‘Cinchona - the wonderful drug, wonderful in the many varieties of its species, wonderful in its composition and wonderful in its effects (the natives of Peru, especially in the early days, would not permit the Cinchona tree to be touched, as they believed it to be poisonous and under the charge of special gods) led Hahnemann to the discovery of THE law of cure, and enabled him to establish homeopathy as a fixed science.’⁹

CHINA (Cinchona Bark) (The alcoholic tincture of the thin tubular as well as the royal bark, cinchona officinalis.)

‘Excepting opium I know no medicine that has been more and oftener misused in diseases, and employed to the injury of mankind, than cinchona bark. It was regarded not only as perfectly innocuous, but as a wholesome and universally beneficial medicine in almost all morbid states, particularly where debility was observed, and was often prescribed in large doses several times a day for many weeks, and even months, together.

In so acting the ordinary physicians were guided by an utterly false principle, and they confirmed the reproach I have already frequently made against them to the more sensible portion of the public, that they have hitherto sought in traditional opinions, in guesses prompted by false lights. in theoretical maxims and chance ideas what they could and should find only by impartial observation, clear experience, and pure experiment, in a pure science of experience such as medicine from its very nature must only be.

Setting aside all guess-work and all traditional unproved opinions, I adopted the latter method, and I found, as with the other medicines, so especially with cinchona bark, by testing its dynamical powers on the healthy human being, that as certainly as it is extremely curative in some cases of disease, so surely can it also develop the most morbid symptoms of a special kind in the healthy human body ; symptoms often of great intensity and long duration, as shown by the following true observations and experiments.

Thereby, first of all, the prevailing delusion as to the harmlessness, the child-like mildness and the all-wholesome character of cinchona bark is refuted.

But equally evident it is, from the symptoms of disease produced by cinchona bark in healthy observers recorded below, that the numerous unhappy results of the treatment by this bark occurring in the practice of ordinary physicians, and the frequently incurable aggravations of disease developed where bark in long continued and large doses was the main remedy in their prescriptions were owing solely to the noxious character of this drug when employed in unsuitable cases, and in too frequent and too large doses.

This noxious character is demonstrated by the medicinal symptoms recorded below, which physicians till now were not aware of, and which they made no effort to ascertain. On the contrary, they innocently ascribed these aggravations to the natural course of the disease itself.

But I refrain from blaming these physicians, whose judgment is biased by the prejudices of their schools, on the account, (their conscience will doubtless reproach them for it) I will content myself with expressing my own convictions in a few remarks.

Published medical literature contains trials and studies of the use of homeopathy for the treatment of parasites.

And, although anti-parasitical effects via homeopathic medicine have been shown in vitro this is not in accordance with the general principles of homeopathy with its hypothesis that homeopathic medicines affect the host via activation of the defense system¹²¹³ to prevent for example, adhesion or growth of parasites rather than by direct anti-parasitical or parasitostatic effects.

With the exception of one systematic review I omit all murine models below (of which there are quite a few) (I do not support testing on animals or vivisection).

Homeopathic Pyrogenium Ointment as Adjuvant in Treatment of Traumatic and Infected Myiasis by Cochliomyia Hominivorax (Diptera: Calliphoridae) in Sheep: A Case Series¹⁴

The blowfly Cochliomyia hominivorax (Diptera: Calliphoridae) causes traumatic myiasis in farm animals, with deeply embedded larvae that lead to serious tissue damage and sometimes death. Treating this form of myiasis is difficult, often resulting in poor outcomes… Homeopathic Pyrogenium 12cH, formulated as an ointment, may be a useful new and adjuvant therapeutic option for treating traumatic and infected myiasis in animals.

Homeopathic Sulphur Ointment as Adjuvant in the Treatment of Sheep with Myiasis by Cochliomyia hominivorax (Diptera: Calliphoridae): A Case Series¹⁵

Homeopathic Sulphur presents similarity with the clinical presentation verified in these cases and has already shown in vitro efficacy on the blowfly that causes this pathology… The homeopathic ointment Sulph 12cH was able to inhibit the development of parasitic C. hominivorax larvae and promote tissue repair and healing in naturally occurring myiasis in the sheep of this study.

Effect of Homeopathic Preparations on Lettuce, Parasitized or Not by Meloidogyne enterolobii¹⁸

There are relatively few scientific works on the use of homeopathy to manage plant pathogens, particularly nematodes. A handful of studies focused on Meloidogyne spp. parasitizing vegetables have brought contradictory results on nematode control and enhancement of plant tolerance to parasitism… Cina affected growth of non-parasitized plants, both positively and negatively; this effect was modulated by the c applied and the thermal stress suffered by the plants in one of the assays. To investigate, through a systematic review, the effects of the use of highly diluted drugs in the treatment of experimental infection with Trypanosoma cruzi… This systematic review brings out the importance of the T. cruzi infection model as a reliable and valid model for studying different effects produced by highly diluted drugs. Considering the findings and in a broader perspective, this study contributes to considering these drugs as a possible way of dealing with "treatment" in general, presents the need to reexamine the biochemical model and develop a model for the effect of high dilutions in general, as well as for the treatment of parasitic infections.

Evaluation of Parasitological Homeopathic Complex in the Control of Gastrointestinal Nematodes in Peripartum Sheep²⁰

The appearance of anthelmintic resistance has made it difficult to control verminosis in sheep, leading to increased research to find alternative nematode control. The use of homeopathy in veterinary medicine has been studied as an alternative for the treatment and control of some diseases. In this study, ewes received an anti-parasitic homeopathic complex medicine during the critical peripartum period of increased susceptibility to nematodes… H20 treatment in peripartum sheep resulted in greater body weight and lower leukocyte count. H10 was associated with lower FEC for Trichostrongylidae. Both H10 and H20 justify a label of 'effective anthelmintic' for Cooperia.

Effect of Homeopathic Medicines on Intestinal Coccidia and Immune Response Cells in Spotted Rose Snapper (Lutjanus guttatus)²¹

Homeopathy has been widely applied in freshwater species but rarely in marine fish. Farm stress destabilises host-pathogen equilibrium, favouring parasites and disease. Coccidian endoparasites cause intestinal infections and cell degeneration… Homeopathic treatments had a positive effect on fish health. Besides the accumulation of metabolic reserves in the liver, homeopathic treatment was associated with mucin increase in gills as well as raised production of lymphocytes and neutrophils in blood, which could act as macrophages against intestinal coccidia.

Effects of Homeopathic Phosphorus on Encephalitozoon cuniculi-Infected Macrophages In-Vitro²²

Encephalitozoon cuniculi (E. cuniculi), a fungus that acts as an intracellular pathogen, causes a marked neurological syndrome in many host species and is a zoonotic concern. Although no well-established treatment for this syndrome is known, previous successful clinical experience using homeopathic phosphorus has been described in which symptom remission with no mortality occurred in 40/42 animals by means of unknown immunological mechanisms. Effect of Homeopathic Medicines and a Nosode on Larvae of Cochliomyia hominivorax (Diptera: Calliphoridae)²³

Cochliomyia hominivorax is the major fly causing primary myiasis in livestock animals in Brazil; its larvae develop in the host's living tissues, causing mutilations, which can even lead to death. In conventional treatments of myiasis, chemo-synthetic insecticides have been employed directly on larvae present in the wounds. Homeopathy may represent a healthy and sustainable alternative both to prevent and to treat myiasis in animals and humans. The current study evaluated how the emergence of adult insects is affected by the use of the homeopathic medicines Sulfur 12cH and Pyrogenium 12cH, and the nosode produced from C. hominivorax larvae at potencies 8cH and 12cH, on third-stage larvae of a C. hominivorax colony.
